Marvel's The Avengers

5/5

Suit up, people. You're in for the best superhero movie I've ever seen. Yes, the best. The Batman films are not superhero movies, they are vigilante thrillers, I'd hardly call Ledger's Joker and Hardy's Bane comic book villains, they are terrorists. THIS is a superhero movie. Silly powers with silly costumes, made shockingly coherent and beautifully shot. This film is enormous. It feels huge, the world feels enormous and the story feels threatening. Loki is a brilliantly portrayed villain with an ideal that I really enjoyed learning about - that human kind strives to be ruled, and freedom is a burden. Every character got just the right amount of screen time to keep their characters intact, without any one of them being featured more than another. Even Hawkeye and Black Widow get a perfect amount of time for their respective characters. The film is filled with great humor, really fun action, a bunch of "WTF" moments, and lots and lots of thrills. Folks, this is the best superhero movie I've seen. Just make sure to check out the past Marvel films before jumping into this. They're all great, anyway! And the all-star cast sticks around, a real dream team for a movie of this scale. Just go. Now. Have fun.
