J Edgar

1.5/5

An incredible disappointment to me, and a heartbreaking one at that. I was hoping for a story that let me become far more intrigued and let me in far more to the emotions of J Edgar. The entire film is even a flashback for the most part, directly from the mind from J Edgar. Instead, however, we're left to watch the life of an incredibly interesting and unknown man completely through a dim glass window (GOD the lighting was dark). The acting saved it, but the story was so confusing and hard to follow with no regard for the audience, it was like listening to the rambles of an old man who's mind was mostly gone through a story you want so desperately to love but feel more dragged along to understand. And, just like how that old man won't shut up, the film NEVER ENDS. Every time I wanted the credits to role, there was more film. Props to DiCaprio who would definitely deserve the Oscar if he earns it, but everything else fell on its face.
