Puss in Boots

2.5/5

Basically as middle of the road as movies get. It was kindof boring, kindof dull, nothing special and nothing to really write home about. If you're some kind of Puss in Boots nut, you'll enjoy it I'm sure. The story seemed so phoned in and so generic though, that it really seemed without any effort or passion, like it really was made for the money and it just happened to not totally suck at the same time. It's definitely an improvement in humor and animation over the past Shrek films, and Puss isn't totally detestable and forgettable of a character as many of the characters in Shrek became. And it actually had some nice music to listen to. The annoying parts: the inexplicable use of Humpty Dumpty, which really made no sense whatsoever, the context of this world being defined by the existence of magic and yet Humpty claiming he was being picked on for believing in magic (first of all, why wouldn't kids make fun of him being a giant egg. second of all, if there's a giant egg walking and talking, how do you NOT believe in magic), and just an overall forgettable story. Have fun, I guess.
