Moneyball

5/5

God this is a beautiful movie. I saw it twice in the same week. Two days apart. Take a movie about a man trying to prove his mindset using math is a smart way to find workers for his company. Make that company a baseball team. It takes a strange subject, that of a baseball scout instead of the players, and makes it into the most intriguing story that you could possibly write. Go Sorkin! Jonah Hill proves that the only role he's really played until now can be changed, mixed up, and produced into a role that's performed wonderfully. Brad Pitt is wonderful as well, playing a man with a justified temper, perhaps, but still a temper that's a bit questionable. The script is funny, smart, gives Jonah Hill a great metaphor, as he calls it, at the end, and all in all, the film creates a tone and an ending unusual to the sports genre. I know nothing about baseball or sports of any kind, and I'll go ahead and recommend this film to anyone.
